This page has been removed, thanks to the insecurity and boredom of the legal department of a City Council. Quite what threat an imaginary letter to an imaginary person that wasn't even posted posed to their credibility and standing, I cannot know.

But they didn't like it. Unhappily, I don't have to rely on stereotypes for my knowledge of lawyers and civil servants. So I can imagine their joyless analysis of the letter in terms of rights and propriety.

Absurd whimsy isn't really their strong point.

I wonder if the mayor saw it? Blimey - that'd be something. A real life figurehead saw my website and set about crushing it. Fantastic.

Sorry if you liked this letter - I've had a few positive emails from people about it. However, the law is the law, and you were wrong.

Thanks again to Pipex, who have always proved very decent and approachable when people like me abuse the power of self-editing and publish reckless and nonsensical pages on the internet that they know full well will probably upset someone, especially someone with a statute book stuffed frontwise up their arse.
